OCOEE RIVER – PIGEON RIVER

The Ocoee River is
located one hour north of Atlanta, Georgia and is one of the most popular rivers
east of the Mississippi.
The Ocoee River
is a dam controlled river with scheduled releases from March to November. Divided
into two runs, the UpperOcoeeRiver’s “Olympic Run” (Class IV+) offers white water rafting thrills for more advanced rafters
while the Middle Section (Class III-IV) is ideal for beginner to intermediate
rafters.
The Pigeon River is
located just outside of Smokey Mountain National Park and forms the border between Tennessee and North
Carolina. The Pigeon River
is mostly Class III (beginner) with a couple of Class IV rapids and is an
increasingly popular whitewater rafting
destination for beginner to intermediate rafting enthusiasts.
